Girlfriends

You know the saying "Every cloud has a silver lining"? I think I really learned what that means over the past month or so. As my relationship and my future were falling apart, it became so clear to me what a wonderful group of women I have in my life.

Now, I already knew I was lucky, but this negative experience really brought to the forefront how fortunate I am.

From the minute things went bad my girls were calling and emailing me and when possible coming to see me. Everyone supported my decisions and reminded me that I was doing the right thing and told me I was strong. Some of you listened to me cry on the phone as my heart was breaking, some of you would send emails to see how I was and to relate your stories, so I knew I would not feel bad forever. Each time someone reached out I healed a little more and I became stronger.

When I was younger I liked hanging out with guys because it was easier, I didn't have to get into all that "emotional stuff", but as I grew into adulthood I saw how very important my relationships with women were. I have worked hard over the years to befriend the right people and get close to the people that will enrich me and make me a better person and that I inturn could do that for them. I think I have done a VERY good job. If I could I would throw a Legend's Ball like Oprah did for the women in my life, because I am truly a better person for having all of you in it.

I could never repay all of you for how you helped get me through the past month of my life. I hope I am always there for you as you have been there for me.

Thanks for being my silver lining.
